We are an academic unit that is focused on preparing highly qualified professionals in the different fields of the health sciences. Future health professionals, it is with great enthusiasm that I address you as Dean of the School of Medical Sciences to make a noble call to serve society through dedication and excellence by embracing your vocation in the health sciences.
Our faculty is home to the School of Medicine, the School of Nutrition, the School of Nursing, the School of Physical Therapy and our recent addition, the School of Veterinary Medicine. Each one of these schools is a fundamental pillar in the health care network, and together, they form a community of academic excellence, with presence and recognition in six regions of our country.

Physician and Surgeon graduated from the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, Specialist in Child Health, Diploma in Clinical Administration and Bioethics.
Undergraduate and graduate professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University, Mariano Galvez.

Dra. Sara Guerra Vivar
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. Master's degree in Public Health with emphasis in Epidemiology and Management.
Diploma in Adolescent Medicine.
Diploma in Food Rights and Public Policies.
Master's Degree in Health Sciences Education at Mariano Galvez University of Guatemala (closed curriculum).
PhD in Nutrition (FUNIBER thesis work). University professor at undergraduate and graduate level in Nutrition and Health Sciences since 2002 in private and public universities in Guatemala.
